           3((4)-2) + 4(4) =

              3(2) + 4(4) =

                6 + 4(4) =

                6 + 16 = 22       

    3)  What is the difference between an expression and an equation?

           An expression does NOT have an equal sign.  An equation DOES have an equal sign.

    4)  10 + (-7) = -3

    5)  12 - (-8) = 20

    6)  5(-2)(3) = -30

    7)  -25 / -5 = 5


WEEK ONE:  Prime Factorizing

    1)  Is the number "27" prime or composite?

            The number "27 is composite because it has more than two factors: 1, 27, 3, and 9.

    2)  How many factors do prime numbers have?

           Prime numbers have only two factors; "1" and themselves.

    3)  What is the prime factorization of 36?

           The prime factorization of 36 is 3 x 2 x 3 x 2.
